Just uploaded a revised page on Benton Barracks. This was an important military base, hospital and contraband/refugee slave camp located now within the city limits of St. Louis, Missouri. Many Union regiments, including U.S. Colored troops, were organized, trained or stationed here during the Civil War. Today the Benton Barracks site remains forgotten and unmarked.
