These were probably Enrolled Missouri Militia. Ignoring George W Smith for units organized in St Louis, Benton or Jefferson Barracks, Hannibal, Pike County, "no record", or reorganized while in the cis-Mississippi region. 15th Missouri Cavalry, reorganized from 7th Regiment Enrolled Militia - Big Blue, Mine Creek, Newtonia 16th Missouri Cavalry, reorganized from 6th Regiment Enrolled Militia - Big Blue, Mine Creek 2nd Battalion State Militia Cavalry - Independence, Lone Jack 5th Missouri State Militia Cavalry - Independence, Big Blue, Westport, Mine Creek 6th Missouri Cavalry - Arkansas, Mississippi, Loisianna 6th Missouri State Militia Cavalry - Little Blue, Independence, Mine Creek, Newtonia 9th Missouri Cavalry - District of Rolla 9th Missouri State Militia Cavalry - Kirksville, Glasgow, Little Blue, Independence ** 2nd Northeast Missouri Home Guard - "No History" Phelps Regiment - District of Rolla ** Missouri State Guard CSA - "No History" The 2nd NE Home Guard and the State Guard CSA were the only "units" that listed both a George W and Richard Smith. The first is on the wrong end of the state, and the other sounds like a catch-all category for Condederate names with little additional information available.
