Believe your "Alnam Augustam Iddam" is Latin and not German. Latin phrases are difficult to translate without the whole sentence to translate, i.e. the position of the verb I believe is at the end of the sentence. Your best bet is to take it to a Catholic Church with an older priest. He should be able to work it for you. German Church records are extremely difficult to read since many of the old priests entered the data in German Script and sort of mixed German and Latin together in their entries. Most of the old Catholic Church records in Germany as well as here in the U.S. were written in Latin. Latin was and still is considered the common language.
