    3. Vicki, It depends on the nature of the service project. If it is an Eagle Scout service project the Boy who makes it his project works on fundraising as a part of his project, by holding spahgetti dinners and such or by seeking donations of materials, money or expertise from businesses and private individuals. This must all be listed in the final project paperwork when he turns it in. If a troop is doing it as a unit service project then for something of this size they might work with another group such as their troops chartering organization, or a local historical society or genealogy club, even a garden club to raise the necessary funds and do the work thus sharing the burden of costs and possibly work as well. They might also work with local businesses to get supplies and perhaps some labor donated to help them with the project. Just remember that with an Eagle project there is much paperwork the boy must do to complete his project and during the school year they are restricted to weekends and holidays. It will take time but it will be worth it as the boy and his troop have a vested interest in doing a good job. One thing to remember when doing a cemetary project where headstones are damaged is you have to consider the size, weight and condition of the stones if they need to be righted and how to do this safely. This sometimes requires heavy equipment which cannot be driven into any cemetary over the graves or it might cause damage or even injury. A business such as one that sells fancy expensive natural stone for use in homes for counters ect... might have the right equipment.
