Dear List: I noticed that one of our subscribers is wanting to unsubscribe from this List because the discussion doesn't have anything to do with looking for family names. Since this is a "Cemetery" discussion list, I thought we could talk about anything to do with cemeteries, including cemeteries that are in need of care, location of cemeteries, care of tombstones, preservation tips, etc., not just names. That's why I subscribed. I didn't realize that these type of discussions were considered "off-topic" for this Board. Am I confused?? Also, how I manage my mail for the various lists I subscribe to is to create a message rule for each List. I have a separate folder for each List I subscribe to and my mail from those lists automatically by-pass my inbox and go directly into their respective folders when I download my mail. Then, whenever I have time, I browse through my folders. I find this helpful because it keeps all the clutter out of my inbox and keeps my List mail segregated and also prevents me from missing out on mail that may require my immediate attention. By the way, I use Outlook Express for my e-mail. You may not be able to create these special message rules with other e-mail programs. I've found that List mail is very sporadic. On some Lists I may not receive a message for days, and then suddenly a hot topic develops, and I may receive 50 messages in one day. You just have to expect that when you subscribe these Lists. By the way, in my opinion, I don't consider the amount of mail that this particular list generates "incredible". I've subscribed to some lists which have generated as much as 100-150 messages a day so this List is nothing compared to that.
