I am looking for the burial place of Col. William W. Compton and his 2nd wife Ruth C. (Ruby) Woods Dulaney Compton. In the 1850 and 1860 census they are living in Carroll county. After that they disappear. William was born 1797 in Virginia and Ruth (Ruby) was born about 1807 in Albemarle county, Virginia. They lived around little the area of Little Compton in Carrol county. They could feasibly be buried in Carroll, Chariton or Howard counties. William also served in the legislature in his later years. Would appreciate any help on this that could be given.
