This is the kak worm, I think. Search for any files with 'kak' and delete. It will also change your registery. Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2001 12:14 PM Subject: IF YOU GOT AN E-MAIL WITH AN ATTACHMENT FROM ME, DON'T OPEN! This morning I received an e-mail with an attachment from someone I knew. The message said "You should see this web page" or something like that. When I attempted to open the attachment, I couldn't -- but unbeknownst (?) to me, there was a virus attached which then forwarded the e-mail to eveyone in my address book. I am told that it's a harmless, prank-type virus and that the attachment is a porn web page -- but to be safe, don't open it, and if you've already tried, delete it from your inbox, then from your deleted items file, and if you find it in your Recycle Bin, delete it from that. Otherwise, my source tells me (and I sure hope he's right), just let it run its course. If you have already attempted to open the attachment, you, too, have now sent it on to everyone in your address book. Lordy. I guess it's not even safe to open attachments that appear to be from "trusted sources"! Kathleen ______________________________
