Not knowing how you originally got on the list I would assume that you are trying to unsubscribe from the wrong mailing. Basically there are two ways to subscribe as well as two ways to unsubscribe, i.e. if you subscribed to the "L" (List) mode then you must unsubscribe from the "L" mode, and if you subscribed to the "D" (Digest) mode then you must unsubscribe using the "D" mode. If you can't remember what you subscribed to give the one you haven't tried a test. This is standard for all of the rootsweb mailing lists.
