Hi Pat My mother was born in Alamosa, Colorado on a homestead in 1916, but her parents were from Carrollton, Missouri. Both the Gray side and the Wilson side arrived in Missouri around 1860 from Brown County, Ohio and Mason County, Kentucky. Both areas are just across the river from each other. They were in the Kentucky and Ohio area from 1790 on, some are still there. Any connection? Sue
Hello Sue, It's really hard to tell at this point in time because I haven't yet found my gggrandfather's birth place. I believe it was TN because that is where my ggrandfather was from, but haven't proof yet, that he was even born there. Just reared, married and they had part of their 10 children in TN and the rest of them in Faulkner County, AR. I'd like to find out the starting point of the Wilson's that are connected here in this country and just where they came from over there. That will take a lot more work and that's why I'm anxious to find out about each family of the Wilson's as they appear on the genealogy web sites. I have found a lady whose ggrandmother was my ggrandmother's sister that way. Actually I went to the library and looked at a cd there that I'd read about on my Family Tree Maker Program. The day after having a list of names from this CD I spotted her on a site out of AR. Oh, I did have an Uncle W. Orb living in Sedalia, MO with wife Bonnie, both dead now. He had worked on the railroad there, I heard my father say. Thanks for responding I will make a copy of your information and who knows what comes up next.
