An old photo recently turned up of Barny and Elizabeth with an M. N. Dowell as the photographer from Deerfield, MO. Is there anyway to find out when this photographer might have been operating in and around Deerfield? This may be a clue as to a location for these g-g-grandparents. Barny Riley (bn 1824 Ohio) and Elizabeth nee Nation Riley (bn 1831 Indiana or possibly Illinois)died possibly late 1880's or 1890's most likely in Missouri and possibly in Vernon Co. Mary Ann nee Riley Smith (bn 1867) married to Albert Mason Smith (bn 1864, d.October 11, 1948) lived at Nevada, MO most all of their married life. Their children's names were Hattie, Albert, Cecil, Ruby, and Pearl. Mary Ann Riley Smith was Barny and Elizabeth's youngest daughter. Thanks to anyone who can help. I was just recently at the Vernon Co. Courthouse and found land records for my family in 1869-1870. You might be able to find that kind of information at the courthouse. I live in Texas so can't help you by going there for you.
