My great great grandfather Benjamin B. Bray born 1817 died Jan 1862 at the winter headquarters of Colonel or General McBrides Brigade, Company A First Cavalry in Springfield, MO. I have not been able to find where he is buried, could you help me please, If you can I'll be so thinkfull. We just went out yesterday and took 1499 photos of Maple Park cem here in Springfield MO. Hay were 3/4 the way done. I forget real easy that's due to the MS, but I keep plugging away at sending copies of these headstones to the ones that need them. real picky about that too. We recently bought a new digital camera and are wanting to make pictures of headstones for our records. Hopefully, we'll get proficient enough to make pictures of stones for others as RAGK. My question of the list is: What would be some hints, suggestions, cautions, things TO do as well as NOT to do, etc. Are there those of you who have made such pictures with really good results as well as not so good results? We are wanting to "give back" to the public some of the help that has been given us through the years with our genealogy and thought this would be appropriate. Eager to hear from you. Did you check to see if anyone drew his Military pension? If someone did, their applications and etc. might give his burial place.
