Please take notice that for some reason the listings for all the graves belonging to the family of Jeremiah Blackwell buried in the old Blackwell Family Cemetery near Blackwell, Missouri, who were previously correctly listed on the Jefferson County web site as being buried in the family cemetery, have all now been moved over to the Blackwell Masonic Cemetery listing. http://rootsweb.com/~mojeffer/transcriptions/cemeteries/blackwellm.html The Blackwell Family Cemetery has been totally eliminated from the cemetery list. http://rootsweb.com/~mojeffer/transcriptions/cemeteries/cemeteries.html I don't understand how this happened! These are two completely different cemeteries! They have been correctly listed as two seaprate cemeteries on the Jefferson County web site for several years now. If someone is going to start modifying and moving around cemetery listings, they should at least be familiar with what cemeteries there are, where they are at, and who is in them. Also, if cemeteries are are listed separately, you don't just suddenly lump them into one cemetery and eliminate the other cemetery from the listing without a good reason for doing so. What a royal mess this is! Also, I'm suddenly finding that I can't even get to other cemeteries scattered around Jefferson County, Missouri, where Blackwell family members are buried such as Moontown, DeSoto City Cemetery, Mount Olive, etc.. I wonder what cemetery those Blackwells will eventually pop up in? The listings were correct as they previously appeared and I can't begin to imaging why someone felt the need to move them around. I hope this mess is sorted out real soon! I'm sending a copy of this message to the last known address of the site administrator so that he/she will be put on notice about this situation and, hopefully, get it corrected immediately. I am sending this message to this List as well so that Blackwell researchers will be put on notice that the Blackwell cemetery listings presently appearing on the Jefferson County, Missouri Mo-Gen-Web site are WRONG! Did you read the message about some of the cemeteries being offline right now and the entire site being under reconstruction? It's posted right on the Jefferson County page as well as the Missouri cemetery site. Anytime a major reconstruction occurs there will be problems to work out. Patience is the key. -----Original Message----- From: Blackwell Researcher [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, January 28, 2006 9:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MO-CEM] Big Mess - Blackwell Cemetery Listings Please take notice that for some reason the listings for all the graves belonging to the family of Jeremiah Blackwell buried in the old Blackwell Family Cemetery near Blackwell, Missouri, who were previously correctly listed on the Jefferson County web site as being buried in the family cemetery, have all now been moved over to the Blackwell Masonic Cemetery listing. http://rootsweb.com/~mojeffer/transcriptions/cemeteries/blackwellm.html The Blackwell Family Cemetery has been totally eliminated from the cemetery list. http://rootsweb.com/~mojeffer/transcriptions/cemeteries/cemeteries.html I don't understand how this happened! I don't know that it will do any good, but at least it might let someone know that there seems to be some bad corrections/make-overs being made. Thanks for suggestions. At time I sent my message to this list, I also sent copy to Blackwell list and to Jefferson County list, as well as a copy to the Jefferson County web site administrator. Hopefully, I'll hear something from the Administrator soon indicating that she's in the process of getting Jeremiah Blackwell's famiy out of the Masonic Cemetery and back into their private family cemetery. If I don't get a response, and no corrective action is taken, I guess I'll go to State coordinator who is over all the Missouri Gen-Web sites about the situation, but I'll wait awhile in the hopes that situation will be corrected on local level and that will not be necessary. Thanks for your suggestions. >From: Orlena <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [MO-CEM] Big Mess - Blackwell Cemetery Listings >Date: Sat, 28 Jan 2006 10:28:22 -0800 (PST) > >I don't know that it will do any good, but at least it might let someone >know that there seems to be some bad corrections/make-overs being made. >While it's not the same, they may know who to contact since it's also a >rootsweb site. > > Place a post in this Topic: Boards - suggestions (1199) > > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=topics.rw.admin.boardsuggest > > Give the disputed links along with the names, so they can more easily >check. > > You might also want to notify of possible errors the Jefferson County MO >Message Board > > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jefferson > > as well as the > > Blackwell Surname Message Board > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.blackwell > > Orlena > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > _________________________________________________________________ Dont just search.
