If it's the Reed Springs near Carthage Missouri where I used to live it's no more than a crossroads on a country road. That would be Jasper County. Hi Peggy, I have visited a lot of cemeteries, but I have yet to see a plat of unmarked graves. Sorry. But check with the locals and the County Historical Society. Some times the county library has some data on the inscriptions in various cemeteries. About the only place I have even gotten names of unmarked graves was from the internet. Sometimes the write up on someone lists what cemetery holds their remains. Thank you so much. Peggy
Wayne, As usual, you have done an excellent job on that cemetery list. If you don't mind, I'd like to work with you on some possible discrepancies I see. For instance: PR003, PR003, Anderson Cemetery, 38.83444, 91.81389 47N 09W 24 NW NE I believe the lat/long does not agree with the township range location on that cemetery. I think the lat/long is right, but I'm not sure. lat/long: 385004N0914850W http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=38.83444&lon=-91.81389&datum=NAD27&s=24&size=l T/R: NW1/4, NE1/4, Sec. 24, T. 47N, R. 9W http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=38.83861&lon=-91.87833&datum=NAD27&s=24&size=l I'll probably bring up a few other possible discrepancies as I encounter them, either on the list or off the list. If you get tired of me, just say so and I'll keep this work to myself. Hi, Antioch Cemetery is 3 miles south of Williamsburg, Callaway Co. >From the Jct of I-70 and Rte D, 1/2 mile south of Williamsburg, go straight south 0.25 mile to a T-Jct with a county road, follow the county road west 0.75 mile to a corner, turn south and then southerly 2.9 miles. The cemetery lies east of the road. In the ninth row from the west is this inscription, Cobbs, Ann B. Feb 18, 1811 - May 10, 1899 I did not record a James Cobbs There are several Boone's in the cemetery, one is, Boone, James M. Died Feb 27, 1868 Aged 39Y 14D Hope this helps, if I can be of further help, let me know. Cobbs, Ann B., b. 18 Feb. 1811, d. 10 May 1899. "Gone but not forgotten." There was no listing for her husband James in this cemetery or in the index of burials for Callaway County. All of the cemeteries of Callaway County can be found on a map at http://www.kchsoc.org/maps/cemeteries.html or http://home.earthlink.net/~kchsoc2/cemeteries.html . I just tried it and it is currently down. I guess the ISP is having some problems; but it should be up shortly.
