I went into Findagrave not long after my post. It is quite interesting. I've begun adding some of my information. I've also been reading the forum there so I learn the proper way my records should appear. I have some photos also of some graves that I want to get scanned and resized now that I have seen how nice the post look with them. Thank you for replying. The findagrave.com site is a good way to post such data but I got the feeling this was rather large. I have a web site that I would post data on -- it would be free, no charge. Can't promise how fast it would be done but I hate to see this kind of information lost. If you are interested reply to this message or send one to me personally. Frances, I just spoke with Wrandi at the Joplin Library reference desk, 417-624-5465, and she advised the following: The correct spelling is Hurlbut. The index to Vol. III lists a C.W. Davis, 1854-1939, died in Nevada, MO, buried July 27, 1939 at Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin, MO. I scanned the WorldCat for this title and it does not appear using several key words. If it had, you could request a inter-library loan and if Joplin Library refuses due to a non-circulating status, they would be able to copy specific pages/names for you, perhaps for a small fee. It appeared to be worse than a 'potters field'. I dont remember seeing any fence but do remember if you were standing at the entrance looking into the cemetery, the area I'm referring to was back in the far left corner behind all the trees. It was very well hidden. Was I in the right area? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I think someone bought all the property past the Country Club. I guess if I want to get a photo of a headstone, I will have to find out who owns it and get permission to enter. Thanks for all your work. I did find the listing for Rev. William Lowe and his wife in the Cemetery Book at the St. Louis Genealogical Library.
