Blodgett, MO is in SCOTT CO. I looked up Gilliland in the Blodgett Cemetery and there are 3 graves with that name. David D. Gilliland b. 10/14/1868 and d. 6/21/1954; wife Belle Z. Gilliland b. 3/9/1874 and d. 6/16/1952; and last is Walter J. Gilliland b. 12/14/1907 and died 6/29/1954. I hope this is helpful. Je, Back in that day, we lost some Fords as the children were given away when their mother died. Myggrandmother wasw s Ford. who knows where the rest went?? Just fishing, I guess, to see if her or her brother's names come up on any list. Her name was Virginia and her brother was William(Bill) Ford. I do not recall hearing what the other children's names were. She was only nine at the time. Thanks anyway. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JECrain" <gmxwater@n-link.com> To: <MO-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 28, 2001 8:17 PM Subject: Re: [MO-CEM] Crains Burials in Stoddard County > No, I am sorry. My family is from the Grey Summit, MO area - it's about 35 miles from St. Louis in Franklin County, if I'm not mistaken. While I'm visiting my aunts there next week, I'll make a few inquiries. The only cemeteries around there I know of are in neighboring Pacific.
No, I am sorry. I do not. Did you have Fords in Stoddard County at that time? William and Alice Crain were probably married in Franklin County, TN. They had sons born there in 1833 and 1837. Just a thought...don't forget about Brush Creek Cemetery. It's on Old Highway 66/100 between Tri-County Truckstop (Old Diamonds) and the Gray Summit exit (New Diamonds). There are some old stones in there. Barbara, The only cemetary that I know of in Gray Summit, Mo. is Brush Creek. It is located on old Hwy.66 just west of the Diamonds Motel. There is an older Private cemetary across from Brush Creek. It sits in a wooded area. It has been maintained. It has a brick wall around it, & someone keeps it mowed. My bro-in-law discovered it while mushroom hunting one Spring. Hope this helps.
