I discovered I need to clarify about the donations that help maintain the Wilson Cem. The cemetery board was created in 1982. The board has used the donations to the cemetery to maintain it. As time passed, the board and members [anyone having family or friends buried there], decided to try to buy perpetual fund CD's. Now there are two CD's earning funds to be put toward the maintenance of the cemetery. They do not pay very much, but it does help. Persons wishing to donate can donate to either perpetual fund or maintenance. Hopefully as the years pass more CD's can be purchased and their interest can be used to maintain the cemetery. Extreme vandalism has not hit this cemetery, yet. Hopefully it never will. There have been metal grave markers removed and new flower arrangements have been reported missing. The cemetery covers approximately 2 acres. The older part of the cemetery was donated by the Young's along with the land for the church. In the deed it stated that if the church disbanded the land would go back to the Young's heirs. A few years ago the church quit having services and the land for the church and cemetery was returned to the Young's heirs. They in turn deeded all the land to be as the Wilson Cemetery. A new adjoining part was given and deeded by the Mathis family a short time before the church disbanded. This part is slowly being cleared and prepared. It takes ages to get ground ready, when it is only volunteer work to do the job. During the annual meeting is about the only time any maintenance is done except for the hired mowing. When the board was first developed it was the hope that a caretaker could someday be hired to do the maintenance. That has not come to pass. If any other list members have ideas of accomplishing this, please list. I will pass it on to the board members. B Smith
I am looking for any descendants or relatives of: CHARLES A. MILLER & ANNA M. nee (Arthur) MILLER. The last I have found is from Kansas City, MO directory. Anna M. Miller, widow of Charles A. Miller, 1937 through 1945. She was not in the 1947 directory. May have died or moved. Last known address 3339 Broadway, Kansas City, MO. I know nothing about Charles A., other than he was married to Anna M.. In the directory there were other Millers living as close as half a block away. This may have been Charles's family. I tried to get a death certificate for Anna but they could not find one. Anna M. was my great aunt, sister to my grandfather. She was the last survivor of the family. All the others died 1920 or before. My great grandparents died in 1938 & 1939. I was born in 1938, so I never knew them. Anna could have been born between 1870 - 1890, possibly in Decatur County, Iowa. Her siblings were all born there. I have tried everything I can think of to find her date and place of death, also her obituary. It may give me a clue as to their children. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Any census records for any years 1900 forward. She lived in the same place it seems for a long time. Desperately seeking any information on her and Charles A. Thank you in advance for any help or advise you may be able to provide. Respectfully yours, Jan, in Indiana
