I guess that is always a possibility. If I have the chance I will question the buried woman's 98 year old daughter. Erven Thoma http://thoma.ws
Probably their ashes are buried there. My in-laws wanted to be cremated and we buried their ashes in small urns in the family plot with traditional head stones. Ginny in WY
Thanks and am still working at it. Getting help from genealogist Diane Walsh of Belleville for the Illinois history of my family and anxiously waiting for the 1930 Census. On the death certificates of a couple of my ancestors, I see the name Missouri Crematory (Crematorium?). Yet the family stone in Sunset Cemetery has their names so I assume they are buried there. I can believe that the Crematory also handles burials as well as cremations. Erven Thoma http://thoma.ws
The site came up. What a lot of work.
If one does not have AOL, there may be a problem with the embedded hyperlink. In that case, just copy the URL http://thoma.ws and paste into the URL field of your browser. My first E-Mail on the Crematory thread had text without an embedded hyperlink. Erven Thoma
The hyperlink is coming up http://thoma.ws">http://thoma.ws</A as written. At least it is doing so on my Outlook. Just enter: http://thoma.ws and it will go there. If the recipient is on AOL, I believe your link must be sent this way to be clickable. <http://thoma.ws> This is a common problem in e-mail messages which are sent from and received by different programs. More of the letters become hyperlinked than should be and therefore will not work as a clickable link or if cut and pasted. Hope this helps. Did the Missouri Crematory also handle burials in the 20's and 40's? Erven Thake Thoma http://thoma.ws
Thank you for the information on the two cemeteries with the name St. Peter. I doubt that it was the catholic one because that side of my family was German evangelical, even though the family did eventually move to Kirkwood. Maybe the one on Lucas & Hunt will have records from 1913 and before. Erven Thoma
Could SKS lookup Mary ZYKAN died July 15, 1915 In St. Louis buried in Calvary Cemetery for me. She is not on the listing at Rootsweb.usgenweb for this cemetery. Thanks in Advance Sue Zeaken (Zykan) suezeaken@juno.com P.S. Could I also have the address! Thanks
If you are speaking of the St. Louis area there is a St. Peter's Cemetery in Kirkwood whose records are controlled by the St. Louis Archdiocese...Phone 314-352-5300. There is another St. Peter's Cemetery at 2101 Lucas & Hunt Rd. phone 314-385-0841. I don't know if there are any others that have be discontinued. I don't think either of these is connected with a particular church and I am pretty sure the one on Lucas & Hunt is not Catholic. Happy Hunting, Donna Weber
I am a new member of the cemetery list. I have quite a few relatives/ancestors buried at Valhalla, Sunset, Lakewood Park, and Jefferson Barracks. One of the ancestors was initially buried at a St. Peter's Cemetery in 1892, then tranferred to Valhalla in 1913. I would like to know if St. Peter's Cemetery still exists and where it was/is. Also, was it connected with a local church? I have tried several time to unsubscribe but get a message by each time that my message can't be sent. Perhaps it is me that's is the problem, but I have tried several times before doing it this way. Sorry if this is a problem. I want to unsubscribe for now and expect to be back with the group by the end of the summer. Many thanks. Dear Carla! I wish you the best of luck. Your family certainly has shown great bravery in their misfortune. What ever the news, I am sure you will handle it with great strength and dignity. I know your friends will be there for you. I just lost my daughter suddenly in March and I can assure you that friends and family will be there for you when you need them, as mine were for me. I will say some prayers for you and yours. In strength, Loretta Goehring McMullin and Shannon Families
I need to unsubscribe for a while myself for vacation. The mail gets so full when I'm not here, need to stop some of it. I have written to a couple of places in Missouri for information on Civil War graves, maybe when I get home I will have some answers that I can share with the rest of you. The rest of you keep digging! (so to speak) Marie

UNSUBSCRIBE I am Unsubscribing from all mailing lists, for the present time. We have had a terrible Family EMERGENCY this week-end. Plus the STRESS of my pending Surgery to try and save my right leg has been scheduled for 22 JUNE 2001. I have to donate enough Units of blood, to get me through the Surgery before they will operate. If the inner compressed infection and the complete knee replacement can not be done, then the leg will be amputated. My grandmother Sedalia RUCKER Dexter had her leg amputated when a teen ager, my Uncle, when in the prime of life, lost his. They both lived GOOD lives well into their years. Our step-grandson had his amputation before 3 years of age, played football, basketball, baseball and swimming. So you can see , we are a determined bunch. You don't think that the RUCKER Blood in these veins has anything to do with that, DO YOU.!! I will still be working on my Genealogy and Family Research, just will not have time to answer so many e-mails that come with belonging to the mailing lists. If we are working on a project, please continue with me on it. I just have to cut down a little, from the present 10 to 16/18 hours per day to 6 to 8 hours per day at this time. When not at home, I will always have my notebook computer with me. Please continue to keep in touch... For those that I was to send my address, that are sending Documents and Records, I will include my Snail Mail Address following this E-Mail. The Researchers that are working now, on the Rucker Projects, I will continue Full Time with you on our work. Everything must be sent to my Private E-Mail at: leighton@pacifier.com I will still be checking my E-Mail. Even while I am in the hospital, if and when I am able to. So, Please keep in touch. I know it will help to keep my mind off all my troubles and my aches and pains for the next several months. Thanks for your understanding in this most difficult time.
