Many of the USGENWEB sites hosted on RootsWeb are back online. Rootsweb tried sending an email to all the owners, but a lot of them bounced back. In short, state and county pages are back; others will come back in the future "by request." The MO websites are listed here: http://www.mogenweb.org/ Use the dropdown box to select a MO county. All the websites (including outside MO) that have returned so far are listed here: https://www.rootsweb.com/sites/siteDirectory For those that would like to download their websites contents from RootsWeb, we will publish instructions on how to do it the week of July 10th. Thanks so much. So it might be a little north of my location. My location, which is likely wrong is NE1/4, NE1/4, Sec 20. Greasy Creek is in this area, and the boiler stuff was near Hungry Creek, which is north of Sec. 20 and ends in the center of Sec. 17. It's an interesting area that I may never get to. Hello folks, and welcome back to RootsWeb's newly upgraded list system. If you are receiving this post it is because you are still a subscriber to this list, even though things have been pretty quiet due to a number of issues lately. The lists are back now, and I believe you will like the improvements that have been made. The most obvious improvement is a new RootsWeb login system, which you will find at the following link: http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/listindexes/setupmail Only one account per person is needed, and once you have created it you will be able to organize and manage all of your list subscriptions in one handy location. Like anything new there will be something of a learning curve in the beginning, but I really think you will like it for the new security and personalization features for your list subscriptions. And last but not least, please note my email address as List Owner immediately below this message and following my name. Also note the "List information" link below that, which will take you to the information page for this list, where you will find information to help you subscribe, unsubscribe, and some other things based on the current status of your new log in account. I welcome you back to the list, and look forward to working with you in the future tracking down our elusive ancestors. David E. I had a friend who donated her body to science, for would be doctors dissect. When they were done with the body and cremated the body they let the family know and they told us the date and time to be at the wolf sanctuary. When we arrived they took us to the most calming place to have a ceremony and gave our goodbyes. Her ashes had already been spread somewhere in the forest. It was the best. I don't know how u can find out. Apparently they did that with all donated bodies. Recently I checked St. Louis Catholic cemeteries to see if she had been buried. I put her name in and it came up so checked the lot to see if she was buried with family. She was not. That lot is a massive lot full of cadavers (some up to 49 boxes under one interment number in one section of the lot), and human remains. There are thousands of burials in that lot. Some have names and some do not. The best thing would be to contact a cemetery in Fulton and see if they can tell you where cadavers are buried and if so if they have the list of names. > > Jerri Decker > > Sent from my iPad > >> On Jul 11, 2016, at 9:18 AM, Bob via <mo-cemeteries@rootsweb.com> wrote: >> >> It's depends. I also have a cousin that donated her body to science when she died in 2009. It's depends. I have found several person in my line have died at State Hospital No. 1, and there body was taken by family members and buried in a local cemetery with other family member. One was before Death Certificate and I found the information in his obituary, and the other person was in the early 1970 an death certificate has not been made public. (I found the head stone listed on Find A Grave). I do not know but I think most state hospital, poor farm, and Correctional Center have cemetery on the ground, but no marker unless family member bought a stone. I hope this some help Bob H. Does anyone know where the bodies are buried from State Hospital No. 1, Fullton, Callaway, MO? What if a 1965 death certificate says the doctor who signed the certificate is a member of the "Anatomical Board". Was that body given to become a cadaver? What happened to dissected bodies? I sure would like to know what happens to these bodies. One turned up in my genealogy. Laura Tynes
Have you checked the St. Louis catholic cemetery website? There are two Fangman's buried in Calvary cemetery and two Fangmann's buried in Calvary and a whole bunch of Dwyer's also in several cemeteries. There is online access to all the catholic cemetery burials at the website archstl.org. I can send you what I found if you need me to. Hello, I am a new member, so I hope I'm doing this right. As a teenager in high school, 1966, my friends and I would clean up a cemetery in Jackson County called I'm told, the Wells Cemetery. The road is closed where I use to get to it, and I've walked it, but it is just not to be found. Will you please help me? I have been told there is a Wells Cemetery is just east of Noland Rd. and West of Hiway 50. Section 26 Township 48 range 32. They also list a Wells Cemetery in Section 23. I remeber as a kid, going under 2 blocks from Bannister Rd (aka Colbern Rd. and/or 95th St)heading south on Noland. There, the street is blocked off going up the hill to the East. The Cemetery is/was up there. No where can I find it. I certainly hope you can help me, my family thinks I'm nuts. But I know it was up that hill. Thank you so much Kat

Hi, everyone. I'm not new to this list, but it's the first time I've posted, as I've been hesitant to do so. I'm searching for a gravesite for what is reputed to be my grandparent's first child, according to a deceased aunt. My one remaining uncle isn't aware of this child. Her name was Eve Coleman, who was supposed to have been born and died between 1910 and 1920 in either Newton County (first choice) or Jasper County, Missouri. Her parents were Wallace Hartford Coleman and Nellie Williamson, with a possible middle name of Sarah. They were married on Oct. 10, 1909 in Camden County, Missouri in the home of her father, Robert Garth Williamson. She doesn't show up on either the 1910 or 1920 censuses. I have no other information on her. I have been searching without success in what online gravesites I can find through Find-a-grave. Anyone who is interested, I can email the list of gravesites I've searched in Newton County. The list is quite extensive. It also includes any Colemans located therein. To my knowledge, none of them are related. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. This is just a note to introduce myself as the new List Admin of this list as of a short while ago. I have been a volunteer List and Board Admin for RootsWeb for about fifteen years or so now, so even though new to this list I am hardly new to administering them. I'm a retiree now, so am lurking in the background keeping an eye on things much of an average day these days, but if you ask my wife I'm "in front of that computer all day." I am also a very active genealogist as well, just like most of you are, and I will jump into the conversation whenever I have something to offer just as most of the rest of you do. As for list workings and such, I try to keep things going according to all of RootsWeb's commonly accepted guidelines and practices just as any other list you may be on, so you will not see many changes in that respect. I look forward to meeting and working with you all in the coming weeks and months, and also to sharing our mutual enjoyment (or is it an obsession?) for genealogy. If you need any help with a list operation problem, please contact me at any time by writing to the Admin's address in my signature lines below, or simply post it to the list if it pertains to appropriate genealogy or history of general interest to other subscribers.
