Wal, now-- It's a beautiful day in the Ozarks! Yesterday, 9 Apr, it was nearly 90 degrees...and a little more than a week ago, we had a 20 degree night... The dogwoods are a-bloomin', as are the redbud and "sarvicebairy" trees. The sycamores are finally buddin' out, and jonquils, wild violets and crocuses are jumpin' all over. My daughter pulled my beautiful 2-yr-old hyacinth out of the ground a couple of weeks ago--she was excited because it was the only thing blooming or showing life in that flower bed, plants thrive if I neglect them. So now I have no hyacinth--this was the first plant I'd ever had that lived past it's initial year in my possession. Last year, my son cut the flowerhead to bring it in for me. I think I'll just throw some wildflower seed out there. At least the hibiscus promise to be gorgeous this year. Those, I didn't plant, came with the house. Ingrid and I are off to do some shopping at the thrift stores in Springfield today for "The League: Taney County Justice," the Bald Knobber play to be held at Outlaw Roundup 19 May. Have a full line-up of musicians both before and after the play. I am very likely going to do some donation-soliciting, too. I've managed to cut corners on quite a few items, but the sound system for both the musicians and the play is going to be a huge thing. Since I'm more deaf than not, I'm a stickler for folks being able to hear... We are still looking for a few men for the play. <sigh> Can't believe how many men turn down a chance to ride horses, shoot guns, and hang people. Seems they want to put the condition on of who they get to hang...I tell them dummies, but they only agree with the adjective and not the noun. Ingrid and I have not yet done the can-can out on "The Strip", Hwy 76 in Branson, but that may happen next week, as we scramble for finals before the first cast meeting. I've got so many e's from recent posts in my "inbox" to put in my database and make sure I have the Pettys and their associated families right. Y'all are doing good work! Gots to git.
