    3. Hey, Howdy! (I rather like that salutation! <BG>) Glad to see that y'all are keeping the home fires burning, so to speak. Me, I'm still around, but don't get alarmed if you e me and don't hear from me for awhiles. I just got my e's checked for the first time in a week--bin outta town as well as busier than a bee buzzin' in the honeysuckle--and I still have 63 just in my inbox that I've read and gotta do something about... A couple of things about the lists, then I'll get to chattin'-- Don't forget, those of you on both Taney and WRV, that iffen you post to both (like I do for these update/chat things), watch where you get a response from. If you get a response from the WRV and you reply to the Taney list, there's a chance some folks aren't on both, and the person you are trying to connect with isn't on the Taney. And vice versa and so on...y'all are smart folks, you probably already know that. Whereas I'm a little bit slow at times... And, in posts to the list, if you got a bunch of fancy fonts or html coding in your e, OR an attachment--it won't get through to the lists. You can do a link, like what I have in my signature line, or some kind of saying, like Pama does, but anything fancy, and Rootsweb will just spit it back atcha. That's one way they ensure that nobody catches any viruses from an email list, and to protect their servers. I don't know about y'all, but I'm rather dependent on Rootsweb's servers, so I appreciate what they do. Just make sure the e's you are trying to post to the lists are "Plain Text," and you should get through jest fine. Okeydoke, enuff bizness, let's yak. (If you ain't interested, that's alright, I won't know <BG>). Ingrid and I have NOT resorted to doing the can-can out on the intersections of Hwy 65 and Hwy 76 in Branson, in order to attract men that like to ride horses, shoot guns and hang people. We've considered it, done some begging just about everytime we're out doing other stuff (we LIVE Outlaw Roundup right now) including breakfast, shopping at WalMart, getting gas, and etc., but no Can-Can at this time. I personally have no sense of rhythm (it didn't come in the gene package), and have no inclination to make a fool of myself dancin' in short skirts. My face wouldn't be the only thing I'd be fallin' on... We've just about got enough actors to be in the play without making all of them double up. We're shy some horses and a few guns, but the way things are going, it'll be okay. I'm a little worried--but not frettin' jest yet--about funds for the sound system, but the Creator tends to make things happen on His own time schedule, so it'll be okay. I've been out soliciting doorprizes for the ticket drawings we're going to have, and some nice ones are shaping up. The biggie looks like it's going to be a weekend for 2 in Branson, with lodging and show tickets, and maybe a meal or two. What I'm discussing--in case you are new--is "Law Day 2001: Outlaw Roundup", a benefit to be held at Shadow Rock Park May 19 in Forsyth, MO. There's gonna be kids' activities, exhibits, music, tours of the old Taney County Jail and the cabin in the park, and the play "The League: Taney County Justice". And much more. It all starts at 9 AM, ends about 5 PM, bridging the gap between the Forsyth city-wide yard sale and the Chamber of Commerce's Fish Fry. Admission is free, there'll be hayride shuttles between parking and various stops in the park, and you'll get to see my husband, who is playing the role of Galba Branson, get shot in the Kirbyville shootout during the play. (I've gotten my father-in-law, my hubby, my son, my MIL, my sister, and a couple of cousins in the play--good thing I have a large family!, and a blessing it is that they're willing to help me when I'm screaming for it!) We're gonna have fun! So if you can come, I'll be more than happy to see ya there. I know of a couple of listers who are meeting "new" kinfolk at Outlaw Roundup, and the suggestion I have for you is this (if you are unfamiliar with the area)--the announcer is going to be stationed near the stage, under a blue shelter (we're calling it the Blue Top). As far as I know, it'll be the only blue top in the park that day. I would plan on meeting up with folks at the announcer's tent if I were y'all. I'm the Event Co-ordinator, so I'll have a Walkie, and you can ask the announcer to call me if you want to meet up. I plan to be wearing my red Tear Dress that day, and yes, I'll be busy...but I'd be more than happy to meet up with you. You might have to wait a few minutes, depending on what's going on, but if you don't find me, have the announcer call me. I'm in the process of putting together a Bald Knobber/Anti-Bald Knobber genealogy, and it should be near the BK exhibit in the Jail. Hee, hee...I have so much doing this stuff. BTW, the dogwood are about done bloomin'--they popped out towards the end of last week. So are the redbuds, and the "sarviceberry" are all done. But the irises are coming up and budding out, the lilacs are out in full force, and the oak trees have finally leafed out (and them nasty little red pollen-holders of theirs are about all gone, thankfully). It's been a beautiful day in the Ozarks! Have a GREAT week! Vonda ListMom for MOTaney and MO-AR-WRV http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~moarwrv/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gregvonda/
