Alice, I don't have anything on your particular Laura but do have some Ganns who married into the Johnson family in Christian County. I have one male Gann unidentified and two females. The father was Uriah Gann and mother was Sarah Vandergriff (spelling varies) she was daughter of Garret and Nancy (Floyd) Vandergriff . Sarah was born ca 1810 in Tennessee. This probably won't do a thing for you but if you have any info on my unidentified Ganns or Garret and Nancy Vandergriff would love to know about it. Thanks.
Hi Elba, I was wondering if you have a rather complete family tree on the Johnsons of Christian County? I have TONS of Johnsons married to my McDaniels, Hiles, and Shipmans, but no idea really how they are related to each other, if at all. Some of the names I am looking for include: Henry Johnson married to Hannah Shipman (daughter of James H and Hannah Shipman) Thier children: Sarah m Anderson Solomon m Mary Ann Shipman (daughter of Isaac Shipman and Elizabeth Johnson--Isaac being brother to Solomon's mother! Is Elizabeth related to Henry also?) Their children: Hannah Elizabeth Johnson m John Riley Bird Tempy Cordelia Johnson m Gibson Isaac Henry Johnson m Minnie (know her last name?) Sollie M. Johnson m Ota V. McDaniel (My gg-aunt, also descended from James and Hannah Shipman!!!) Mary Jane Hiles (daughter of Andrew Hiles and Catherine Walker) m J. Monroe Johnson. Thier children: David Newton Johnson m Lucy J. (last name?) Lew F. Johnson m Myrtle (last name?) Temperance Hiles (sister of Mary Jane) m James J. Johnson (is he related to J. Monroe Johnson?). Thier children: James Allen Johnson m Blanche (last name?) Ola A. Johnson Then there is Nancy McDaniel (dauther of Samuel R. McDaniel and Elizabeth Walker) who m Eli Johnson in Howell County, MO. Have also seen a number of marriage records bearing the name James Johnson as the minister or justice of the peace. Is this the James Johnson married to Tempy Hiles? Or is he related to these other Johnsons at all? Thanks! :-) Kim
