Hello White researchers, I have recently found that John R. White, son of Charles and Anna White, born in Bear Creek township @ 1850, died in Tahlequa Oklahoma in 1921. His wife, Martha G. (Benton) White died in Westville Oklahoma in 1933. She was living with her daughter Tinnie Walker at the time. She was drawing a 30$ a month pension from the federal government for John R. Whites service in the Union Army during the Civil War. She collected the pension from 1930 until her death in 1933. It took her quite some time to convince the government that her husbands service in the 73 enrolled Missouri Militia was Union service. I have also found out that Martha maried Greenberry Ogles originally but he was killed near Carrollton in 1862. I don't know how. It is intersting to me that John R. died in the capital of the Cherokee Nation. I have been looking for the indian connection to this family for awhile. Hope this helps Richard White
