Good morning! Several folks have been inquiring about where to find out-of-print books written by regional authors, such as Doug Mahnkey, Mae Kennedy McCord, Ernie Deane, and more...if you can't find them by searching Barnes & Noble or Amazon, try this: http://www.alibris.com/ My mother-in-law gave me a gift certificate from alibris for my birthday; about the only thing I didn't find was Elmo Ingenthron's books (and they might be there now, I've not looked lately--they're hard to find anywhere!) Anyway, they have many older, out-of-print books, and I really liked the site. Chris Meadows, Lucile Morris Upton, and many others are there. They seem a little pricey, but then if you are wanting an older, out-of-print book, that's the way it goes. On the homefront: Work is progressing on "Law Day 2001: Outlaw Roundup" as expected. We held auditions Saturday for the Bald Knobber Re-enactment, "The League: Taney County Justice" at the Old Taney County Jail. Auditions are continuing this week, so any of you who live locally--contact me, and we'll set you up! We need lots of men for roles as both Bald Knobbers and Anti-Bald Knobbers. No prior acting experience is necessary, for only a few parts have more than a few lines. Ingrid and I have even resorted to approaching "strange" men we think would suit a role, ask them if they can act, and "beg" them into coming to an audition. <BG> The lakes are filling up, the creeks are looking so much better...it's a gorgeous time of year in the Ozarks. Ingrid has daffodils blooming in her yard, as of yesterday. Those of us with allergies to pollinating trees are all clogged up (BG), and taking our allergy meds. Don't have a whole lot of news, other than just being too busy to do a lot of playing. Have a great week!
