Good Idea! Here's mine too: MCDANIEL>Greene/Christian and Howell counties, MO; Craighead County, Ark; Tenn; and Randolph County, NC. HORN>Tenn, possibly related to those in Greene/Christian County, MO JOHNSON>Greene/Christian and Howell Counties, MO WALKER>Greene/Christian Counties, MO HILES (Hales?)>Christian County, MO SHIPMAN>Greene/Christian County GARRISON>Greene/Christian County NASH>Christian County (from Kentucky) BROWN>Christian County (from Kentucky) I think thats all! lol John F. McDaniel (b 1765) may have been cousin or uncle to Samuel A. McDaniel and was father to Samuel R. McDaniel (b 1813). His descendents are in Christian County, MO, Howell County, MO and Craighead County, Ark. He apparantly lived in all three places. He was born in Randolph Couny, NC and lived in Tenn before moving to the Ozarks. He was first married to Mary Horn (mother of John and Samuel), then after her death he married Mary Reeves-Thomas (a widow) and had more children, most of whom settled in Ark. He may have married another woman named Mary after Mary #2's death. (He sort of liked Marys I think! lol). John F.'s son Samuel R. McDaniel was married to Elizabeth Walker who may or may not have been daugther of David Walker and Maragarat Pendleton. (We have also found that she was daughter of a William and Nancy Walker, but no proof to either claim.) They were in 1850 Greene County census, but Samuel must have died and Elizabeth moved to Howell County and remarried after that. Samuel and Elizabeth's son William McDaniel either stayed in Christian County or moved back from Howell County. He married Matilda Jane Shipman (daughter of Abraham Shipman and Esther Garrison). Matilda's sister Sarah was married to Dave "Bull Creek" Walker of the Bald Knobbers. William and Matilda's son Andrew married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hiles (daughter of Andrew Hiles and Catherine Walker). Two of Lizzie's sisters married Johnsons. I have had trouble finding Andrew Hiles' lineage, all Iknow is he came from Tenn. Catherine may be related to Dave "Bull Creek" Walker, but I don't know how. She was from Kentucky as he was, and she and Andrew lived next door to Dave's parents. She was a few years older than Dave. Also living with her was a Margarat Walker in 1860 who was 3 years younger than her and may have been her sister. Andrew and Elizabeth's son William Jasper McDaniel (b 1894) married Iva Pearl Brown and moved to the area near Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas where Iva's father and siblings lived. Iva's father was John William Brown from Kentucky and her mother was Pulaska Jane Nash from Kentucky also, but they were married in Christian County in 1891 and there were relatives living there that Iva stayed with after her mother died in 1910-1914. She met and married William Jasper McDaniel while staying with her relatives. William Jasper and Iva McDaniel are my ggrandparents. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
K T , do you know of any other siblings for Samuel R. McDaniel , son of John F. ? I am looking for the family of Jos. or Jehu McDaniel/ McDonald b. ca. 1816 NC and a Joshua McDaniel/ McDonald b. ca. 1815 NC , they are both on the 1860 Stone Co., Mo. census as McDaniels . Jos. (my g.g.grandfather) was killed by Bushwackers and his family migrated to Hickory Co. ca. 1865. Joshua may have went to Jasper Co. about the same time . Other surnames that were connected to this family were : Parmers/Palmers , Dennis, Wells, VanDivers and Rodden ! I have yet to connect them to any known McDaniels or McDonalds, in either Mo. or NC, so I have a tendency to ask everyone researching these names if they've heard of them ! ( wishful thinking ! :o) ) Thanks, Jeff McDonald ----- Original Message ----- From: "K T" <kkt71@hotmail.com> To: <MO-AR-WRV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2001 11:09 AM Subject: Re: [MO-AR-WRV] New Year - Listing names > Good Idea!
