MURRY (Democrat), Representative from Macon County; born February 21, 1886, at Elmer, Mo.; educated in the public schools of Macon and Adair Counties, Mo., and at the Chillicothe Normal School, Chillicothe, Mo. He married Miss ETHEL HOUGHTON March 15, 1915, at Kansas City, Mo. A druggist and insurance executive, he resides at Elmer. He is Secretary and Past Master of A.F.& A.M. Lodge No.648 of Elmer, a member of the Royal Arch, Knights Templar and Shrine, the I.O.O.F. and is District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Missouri of that order. He has been a township committeeman twenty years and is a member of the executive committee of the Macon County Democratic Central Committee. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1928 and served in the 55th General Assembly. Elected again to the House of Representatives in 1938, he was a member of the following committees in the 60th General Assembly: Criminal Justice; Bills to be Perfected and Printed; Insurance; Public Health; Roads and Highways; State Teachers Colleges.
