Admitted to the bar in Vernon County, he was City Attorney of Nevada, Mo., from 1906 to 1911, and now is engaged in farming near Charleston, Mo. A lifelong Democrat, he was elected to the House of Representatives and served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Agriculture; Civil and Criminal Procedure; Judiciary; Flood Control and Soil Conservation; Elections; Taxation and Revenue. MORRIS E. OSBURN (Democrat), Representative from Shelby County; born in Shelbyville, Mo., March 13, 1901; educated in the grade and high schools of Shelbyville and the University of Missouri. He married Miss ADELINE MAGRUDER in Hannibal, Mo., June 7, 1928. An attorney, he is engaged in the practice of law in Shelbyville. Has been active in state and county Democratic politics for years, having served as Prosecuting Attorney of Shelby County three terms, from 1929 to 1934, inclusive. First elected to the House of Representatives in 1934, he was re-elected in 1936 and 1938. In the 60th General Assembly he acted as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and as ranking member of the Appropriations Committee, as well as being a member of the following other committees: Judiciary; Revision; Probation and Parole; Social Security and Old Age Assistance.
