August 16, 1936, he was married to Miss CHARLOTTE M. KEMPE of St. Louis County at the Eden Immanuel Evangelical Church in St. Louis. A poultry husbandsman and squab producer, he resides at 2671 Carson Road, Overland, Mo. He is Past Master, Wellston Chapter, Order of DeMolay; Past Noble Grand of Wellston Lodge No. 827, I.O.O.F., and a member of the council of Eden Immanuel Evangelical Church of St. Louis. Entering Republican politics at the age of 23, he is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Community and Progressive Republican Clubs of St. Louis County, and is an active member of the Normandy Township Men's Republican Club, Progressive Republican Club, Community Republican Club, and Young People's Republican Club. Defeated for the Republican nomination for State Representative in 1934, he was nominated in 1936 and defeated. Renominated in 1938, he was elected to the House of Representatives and served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following comitttees: Taxation and Revenue; Labor; Commerce and Manufactories; Elections; Official Salaries and Fees.
