SEARCY (Democrat), Senator from the Twenty-second District; born May 8, 1882, in Audrain County, Mo.; educated in the public schools of Birch tree, Mo., and Eminence, Mo., graduating from high schools at both places and from Springfield Normal School. Admitted to the bar in 1903 and has engaged in praactice of law at Eminence since that time. Married June 3, 1903, to Miss NANNIE A. PARKER in Birch Tree. Is a member of the Odd Fellows and Masons, including the Shrine, and also belons to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. He served one term each as Highway Engineer, School Commissioner and Judge of the County Court, and two terms as Prosecuting Attorney of Shannon County, First elected to the State Senate in 1926, he again was elected in 1934, acting as chairman of the Committee on Fish and Game in the 59th General Assembly. Re-elected in 1938, he was chairman of the Committee on Banks and Banking in the 60th General Assembly, and also served as a member of the following other committees: Accounts; Criminal Jurisprudence; Judiciary; Fish and Game; Municipal Corporations; Printing; Private Corporations; Public Health; Ways and Means; Wills and Probate Law; Workmen's Compensation; Labor.
