13 May 2000 MO-ABSTRACTS Read-Only List ======================================== Source: "The History of Dentistry in Missouri" 1938 (abstracted from pages 50-51) First Meeting of the Missouri State Dental Association St. Louis, 31 Oct and 1 Nov 1865 A call was made by the St. Louis Dental Society for the organization of a state, dental association. The meeting convened on 31 Oct 1865 at the new Church Hall. In attendance were abt 60 dentists. J.S. CLARK, of St. Louis, was made the temporary chairman. G.S. MORSE, of Columbia, was named temporary secretary. Isaiah FORBES, A.D. SLOAN, Isaac COMSTOCK, H.E. DEPP and W.H. EAMES were appointed to draft a constitution. While the committee was absent there was a discussion of a dental issue by Drs. JONES, BLAKE, PAYNE, McCOY, PEEBLES, HOVEY and MORSE.
