RAYMOND CARTER (Republican), Representative from Webster County; born August 13, 1905, in Seymour, Mo.; educated in the Seymour grade and high schools, Southwest Missouri Teachers College at Springfield, and the University of Missouri School of Law. He was married June 20, 1933, in Kansas City, Kan., to Miss ETHEL FRANCES MONVILLE, and they have two sons, DAVID MONVILLE and KENNETH GUY. He is a law student and resides at Seymour. Long active in Republican politics, he was President of the Young Republican Club of Webster County in 1936. He is a member of A. F. & A. M., Hazelwood Lodge No. 459 at Seymour. For three years he taught school in Webster County, Elected to the House of Representatives of the 59th General Assembly in 1936, he was re-elected in 1938, and served in the 60th General Assembly as minority caucus chairman, and as a member of the following committees: Appropriations; Bills Agreed To and Finally Passed; Judiciary; Roads and Highways; Transportation, Other Than Railroads; Ways and Means.
