DAILY (Democrat), Representative from Phelps County; born near Rolla, Mo., January 7, 1870; educated in the public schools of Phelps County. In April, 1901, he was married to Miss ANNIE HELEN HANEFIN in St. James, Mo., and they have three children, MARY THERESA of Rolla; GENEVIEVE (Sister M. Bertrand), St. John's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.; and EUGENE J. of Little Rock, Ark. A farmer, he resides on a farm near Rolla on Rural Route No. 1. Long active in Democratic politics, he has served as a member of the Phelps County Democratic Central Committee and of the Phelps County Highway Commission. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1934 and re-elected in 1936 and in 1938, he served in the 59th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on School of Mines. In the 60th General Assembly, he acted again as chairman of the School of Mines Committee and also was a member of the following other committees: Appropriations; Constitutional Amendments; Justice of the Peace and County Courts; Roads and Highways; Agriculture. JACKSON DAVIS (Democrat), Representative from New Madrid County; born March 12, 1907, at East Prairie, Mo.; educated in the public schools at East Prairie, Southeast Missouri State Teachers College at Cape Girardeau, and Tyler College, Tyler, Texas. He was married to Miss VIRGINIA BLEDSOE at Sikeston, Mo., January 1, 1936. He is a cotton ginner and planter and resides at Matthews, Mo. He is a member of the Missouri Athletic Association at St. Louis, First elected in 1936 to the House of Representatives in the 59th General Assembly, he was re-elected in 1938, serving as chairman of the Swamp Lands, Drainage and Levees Committee, as well as a member of the following committees in the 60th General Assembly: Building and Loan; Consolidation of Counties and Other Subdivisions of the State Government, Boards, Bureaus and Departments; Commerce and Manufactories; Transportation, Other than Railroads; Workmen's Compensation.
