CAMPBELL (Democrat), Representative from Henry County; born in Platte County, Mo., November 5, 1869; educated in the public schools of Montrose, Mo. October 17, 1900, he was married to Miss FLORA M. DOWARD of Montrose, who died in 1906. They had one son, C. W. CAMPBELL, who resides on Long Beach, Calif. Was married second time, December 1, 1910, to Miss ALLIE BROWN, who died March 27, 1936. After spending his early years on a farm, he entered the mercantile business in 1896 in Montrose, where re resides and which business he continues to operate. He is a member of the Christian Church, the O. E. S. and A. F. & A. M. A staunch Democrat, he boasts of having voted for every Democrat nominee for President, from Grover Cleveland to Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was a Democratic Committeeman for twelve years and was a delegate to the Democratic State Conventions at St. Joseph and Joplin. In 1938, he was elected to the House of Representatives and served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Bills Agreed To and Finally Passed; Children's Code; Eleemosynary Institutions: Penal Institutions; Roads and Highways: Township Organization; Social Security and Old Age Assistance.
