DESSIEUX (Democrat), Representative from Osage County; born June 27, 1889, at Springfield, Mo.; educated in the grade and high schools of Linn, Mo., Park College, Parkville, Mo., Lyons University, Lyons, France, and Denver University Law School, Denver, Colo. He was married in February, 1920, at Linn to Miss LEORA FERGUSON of Linn, and they have four children, EULA MARIE, CLIFFORD E., MARY RUTH and PAUL RUSSELL. He is an attorney and farmer and resides at Linn. He also is president of two insurance companies, the People's Mutual Insurance Association of Linn and the Oklahoma Life Insurance Company of Muskogee, Okla. During the World War, he spent thirteen months overseas with the 138th F.H., 35th Division, having enlisted in June, 1917, and being discharged in July, 1919. He served several terms as Mayor of Linn and was Judge of the Probate Court of Osage County from 1928 to January 1, 1939. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Judiciary; Printing; Purchasing; Roads and Highways; Social Security and Old Age Assistance; Swamp Lands, Drainage and Levees; Wills and Probate. M. T. DIVINE (Democrat), Representative from Cooper County; born June 21, 1892, in Sedalia, Mo.; educated in the public and parochial schools of Sedalia. On February 5, 1921, he married Miss MARGUERITE C. FELTEN in Boonville, Mo., and they have three children, MARY PATRICIA, CHARLOTTE ANNE and MICHAEL THOMAS, Jr. He is a grain dealer at Boonville and New Franklin, Mo., and resides at 18 Riverside Place, Boonville. Entering military service September 17, 1917, he served nineteen months overseas during the World War with Company B and Headquarters Company of the 35th Engineers, being discharged from service September 13, 1919. A lifelong Democrat, he has been active in party work for years. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1936, he served in the 59th General Assembly and was re-elected in 1938, serving in the 60th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on Consolidation of Counties and Other Subdivisions of the State Government, Boards, Bureaus and Departments, and as a member of the following other committees: Penal Institutions; Purchases and Supplies; Railroads and Internal Improvements; Roads and Highways; Transportation Other Than Railroads.
