SUTTON (Democrat), Representative from Wayne County; born at Bismarck, Mo., January 25, 1904; educated in the grade and high schools of Piedmont, Mo. He married Miss MARTHA EUNICE WAGONER of Lebanon, Mo., September 4, 1927, at Des Arc, Mo.; and they reside at Piedmont. Active in Democratic politics even prior to reaching his majority, he served as Postmaster of the Missouri Senate in 1931. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1934 and re-elected in 1936 and 1938. In the 60th General Assembly, he acted as chairman of the Committee on Penal Institutions and served on the following committees : Consolidation of Counties and Other Subdivisions of the State Government, Boards, Bureaus and Departments; Education; Fish and Game; Public Health; Roads and Highways. JOHN D. TAYLOR (Democrat), Representative from Charlton County; born in Keytesville, Mo., December 16, 1883; educated in the grade and high schools of his native county. At the age of 16 he began teaching school and followed that proression seven years. Later he studied law, was admitted to the bar in January 1908, and is now a practicing attorney at Keytesville, where he resides. He married Miss JESSIE F. TURNER at DeWitt, Mo., August 12, 1903. After representing Charlton County in the 45th and 46th General Assemblies, he was elected State Senator from the Sixth District in 1916, serving in the 49th General Assembly. Elected to the House of Representatives a third time in 1933, he served during the extra session of the 57th General Assembly, then was re-elected in 1934, 1936 and 1938. Prominent many years in Democratic politics, he has held positions on many political committees and has been a delegate to numerous conventions. In the 58th, 59th and 60th General Assembles, he acted as chairman of the Committee on Appropriations and the Committee on Rules and Joint Rules. In the 60th General Assembly he also was a member of the following committees: Criminal Jurisprudence; Insurance; Judiciary; Miscellaneous Resolutions; Ways and Means.
