SIMRELL (Republican), representative from Cedar County; born in Cedar County, Mo., July 15, 1886; educated in the public schools of Cedar County, at Loyla University, Chicago, Tulane University, New Orleans, and at the Cook County Hospital, Chicago. He married Miss HESTER COWAN at Eldorado Springs, Mo., March 29, 1924, and one child, ZELLA LEE, was born to them. He engaged in the practice of medicine in Cedar County twenty-five years; was Past President of the Vernon-Cedar Medical Society, and resided at Stockton, Mo. Long active in Republican politics, he had served as Chairman of the Cedar County Republican Central Committee, 16th Senatorial District Chairman; was a member of the Republican State Committee in 1930 and served as coroner and health officer of Cedar County from 1915 to 1932. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served as a member of the following committees in the 60th General Assembly: Public Health; Pensions; School of Mines; Roads and Highways; Federal relations.
