He was married to Miss LYDIA McLALLAN, March 10, 1897. He resides at Cowgill, Mo., where he is engaged in farming and the insurance business. The eldest of a family of nine children, he became their sole support at the age of 16 upon the death of his father. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cowgill, and also a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order Eastern Star, and the Modern Woodmen. A lifelong Republican, he was mayor of Cowgill twelve years, justice of the peace there fourteen years, and served in the 58th and 59th General Assemblies, being re-elected in 1938 to the House of Representatives and holding membership on the following committees in the 60th General Assembly: Agriculture; Roads and Highways; Education; Employees and Clerical Force; Official Salaries and Fees; Township Organization.
