Born May 8, 1907, in Stafford Springs, Conn.; educated in the public schools, Central High school and Washington University School of Law (LL.B. 1928), all of St. Louis, and was admitted to the bar in 1928. He was an honor graduate from Washington University and is a member of the advisory board of Washington University Law Quarterly. Also is a member of Coil, honorary legal fraternity, and is a member of the American, Missouri and St. Louis Bar Associations and of the Lawyers' Association of St. Louis. He was married June 26, 1935, in St. Louis, to Miss RUTH R. COHEN and they reside at 6242 Southwood Avenue in St. Louis. He was a practicing attorney in St. Louis until elected in 1938 to the circuit bench for a term expiring December 31, 1944. THOMAS J. ROWE, Jr. (Democrat), Eighth Circuit, Division No. 13, St. Louis. Was born in St. Louis, Mo., October 9, 1882, the son of THOMAS J. ROWE and ELIZABETH O'NEIL ROWE. Educated in the public and high schools and Washington University of St. Louis. Admitted to the bar in March 1906. Began practice of law with his father immediately thereafter. Resides at 5295 Waterman Avenue, St. Louis. Served as a special Assistant Attorney-General on corporations under Attorney-General Frank McAllister. Was elected Judge of the Eighth Circuit in November 1936, for a term expiring December 31, 1941. WILLIAM B. FLYNN (Democrat), Eighth Circuit, Division No. 14, St. Louis. Was born August 27, 1896, in St. Louis, Mo.; educated in the grade and high schools of St. Louis and at St. Louis University (LL.B. 1922). On July 3, 1924, he was married to ADA ALICE BLACK, and they have two children, ANNE KATHERINE, 13, and WILLIAM B. FLYNN, Jr., 11. Served as a Sergeant at Camp Bowie, Ft. Worth, Texas, during the World War; is a member of Fred W. Stockham Post No. 245, American Legion, and Forty and Eight Society. Has been a Democrat since birth, his father and grandfather before him being staunch Missouri Democrats. In 1929 he was appointed Assistant Circuit Attorney of the City of St. Louis under Hon. Franklin T. Miller; remained in thet position for eight years, resigning when elected to the circuit bench in 1936; led the judicial ticket in the general election. His grandparents, BERNARD and MARY FLYNN, came from County Down, Ireland, and settled in Potosi, Mo., in 1845, where his grandfather was a pioneer wagonmaker.
