Was born August 4, 1902, in Liberty, Mo., the only child of PATRICK M. ROONEY of Dublin, Ireland, and MARGARET SOMERS ROONEY of Roscommon, Ireland. Educated in the public schools and William Jewell College of Liberty, Mo., and the Kansas City School of Law. Admitted to the bar in 1925. On January 7, 1937, he married Miss FRANCES MURPHY of Liberty. Now resides in Liberty in the house in which he was born, in which his father died in 1907, and in which his mother died in 1936. Elected Prosecuting Attorney of Clay County, Missouri, in 1930, 1932, and 1934, serving for three successive terms. Elected Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit in November, 1936, to serve four years of the unexpired term of Judge Ralph Hughes, deceased. WILLIAM S. CONNOR (Democrat), Eighth Circuit, Division No. 1, St. Louis. Was born at Shannondale, Pa., in 1881; educated in the public and parochial schools of Pennsylvania and Washington University of St. Louis, Mo. Was admitted to the bar in 1904. In 1909 he married Miss KATHERINE M. BYRNE of St. Louis, and they now reside at 929 Buena Vista Avenue in that city. Has been an active Democrat all of his life, being one of the Democratic nominees for Judge of the Eighth Judicial Circuit in 1922, 1924, and 1928. Was Assistant Circuit Attorney of St. Louis from 1917 to 1921, and Associate Prosecuting Attorney there from 1921 to 1923. Is a Past Exalted Ruler of St. Louis Lodge of Elks; Past Dictator of St. Louis Lodge of Moose and a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Louis. Is also a member of the American, Missouri and St. Louis Bar Associations and the Lawyers' Association of St. Louis. He was elected Circuit Judge in November, 1934, for a term expiring December 31, 1940. HARRY F. RUSSELL (Democrat), Eighth Circuit, Division No. 2, St. Louis. Was born in St. Louis, Mo. January 31, 1891; educated in the public schools of St. Louis and the Benton College of Law. He was admitted to the bar June 29, 1916, at which time he was acting as official reporter for the grand jury of St. Louis. During the World War he enlisted in the Reserve Aviation Section of the U. S, Signal Corps and served from December, 1917, to January, 1919. He is a member of the Forty and Eight Society; Disabled American Veterans; American, Missouri and St. Louis Bar Associations; Lawyers' Association of St. Louis, and of the Board of Directors, Humane Society of St. Louis. Served as Assistant Circuit Attorney of St. Louis under Hon. Lawrence McDaniel from 1917 to 1921, except during his war service period.
