C. On December 26, 1927, at Jefferson City, Mo., he married Mrs. BESS SPRIGG, who died June 11, 1933. He married Mrs. ANNA HUGGINS in Marshall, Mo., December 28, 1937. A retired farmer, he resides at Marshall. He has long been active in Democratic politics and served several years as a member of his county committee. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1930 and again in 1936 and 1938. In the 60th General Assembly, he acted as chairman of the Committee on Flood Control and Soil Conservation, and also as a member of the following other committees: Agriculture; Appropriations; Roads and Highways; Eleemosynary Institutions; Criminal Justice. CLAUDE ARNOLD (Democrat), Representative from Stoddard County; born June 28, 1903, on a farm near Blodgett, Scott County, Mo., a son of W. N. and LULA ARNOLD; educated in the public schools of Scott County, the Will Mayfield College, Marble Hill, Mo., and the Central Missouri State Teachers College, Warrensburg, Mo. Hw was married to Miss VESTA ABERNATHY of Lutesville, Mo., July 9, 1926, at Jonesboro, Ill. They have a daughter, CLAUDINE. He was a member of the Stoddard County Democratic Central Committee from 1930 to 1934; member of the Puxico Board of Education since 1934, and is President of the Stoddard County Young Democratic Club. He is also a Scottish Rite Mason; President of the Puxico Commercial Club and President of the Stoddard County Bar Association. He is an attorney and resides at Puxico. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Judiciary; Workmen's Compensation; Insurance; Banks and Banking; Criminal Jurisprudence; University.
