DONNELLY (Democrat), Senator from the Twenty-seventh District; born in Lebanon, Mo., March 6, 1891; educated in the Lebanon high school and the Law Department of St. Louis University, St. Louis, Mo. He was admitted to the bar December 24, 1912 and is engaged in the practice of law at Lebanon. He married Miss JUANITA McFADDEN in Maplewood, Mo., May 22, 1915, and they have one son, PHILLIP DAVID. Was Prosecuting Attorney of Laclede County, and also served several terms as City Attorney of Lebanon. After being elected to the House of Representatives in 1922 and serving in the 52nd General Assembly, he was elected to the Senate in 1924 and re-elected in 1928, 1932, and 1936. He was majority floor leader in the Senate of the 57th General Assembly, and in the 58th General Assembly was President Pro Tem. In 1938 he served as chairman of the Statute Revision Commission. In the 59th General Assembly he acted as chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means, and again was chairman of that committee in the 60th General Assembly, in addition to being a member of the following other committees during that session: Judiciary; Criminal Jurisprudence; Appropriations; Railroads and Internal Improvements; Roads and Highways; Agriculture; Social Security; Private Corporations; Penal Institutions and Reform Schools; Rules and Joint Rules.
