BARE (Democrat), Representative from Gentry County; born in Albany, Mo., October 15, 1884, a son of W. H. BARE, Civil War veteran, who came to Missouri from Kentucky after the Civil War; educated in the Albany high school and Northwest Missouri College, Albany. He was married July 25, 1906, at Albany, to Miss CLARA HIGDON of McFall, Mo., who died October 15, 1919. Later he was married to Mrs. PEARL PUTNAM of Dallas, Texas. He has four children, HENRY, MAURICE and LOVETT BARE and Mrs. JULIA SIMMS, and two step-daughters, MARY AGNES and NANIE MAE PUTNAM. Resides at Albany, where he has engaged in the furniture and undertaking business since 1901. He was elected Councilman of the First Ward, Albany, in 1915, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Athens Township, Gentry County, in 1935. A member of the Masonic Lodge, he is Past Commander of Albany Commandry No. 50, Knights Templar, Past High Priest of Albany Royal Arch Chapter No. 116, and Past Master, Athens Lodge No. 127, A. F. & A. M. Elected to the House of Representatives of the 59th General Assembly in 1936, he was re-elected in 1938, without opposition in either primary or general election. In the 60th General Assembly he served as Chairman of the Committee on Township Organization, and also a member of the following other committees: Appropriations; Eleemosynary Institutions; Employees and Clerical Force; Fish and Game; Taxation and Revenue. CHARLES BARRETT (Democrat), Representative from Madison County; born May 23, 1879, at Buckhorn, Mo.; educated in the public schools of Madison County. He married Miss ANNIE M. FARQUHAR at Buckhorn, April 6, 1902, and they have five children, ETHEL, GLADYS, LOTTIE, BENTON and RUBY. He is a farmer and live stock dealer and resides at Buckhorn. He was treasurer of Madison County from 1907 to 1909.; member of the County Court there from 1916 to 1920, and now a member of the Board of Education of School District No. 53, of Madison County. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Agriculture; Education; Fish and Game; Flood Control; Mines and Mining; Roads and Highways.
