LAFFERTY (Democrat), Representataive from Jackson County, Second District; born January 11, 1893. in St. Joseph, Mo., educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Mo. On November 11, 1920, he married Miss NAOMI DYNES in Kansas City. He is a wholesale beer distributor and resides at 2415 Broadway in Kansas City. During the World War, he served overseas with the 128th Infantry, 32nd Division. In 1924, he was elected to the House of Representatives, and re-elected in 1926, 1928. 1930, 1932, 1934, 1936 and 1938. In the 58th, 59th and 60th General Assemblies, he was chosen Majority Caucus Chairman. In the 60th General Assembly, he was chairman of the Committee on Bills to be Perfected and Printed, and a member of the following other committees: Criminal Jurisprudence; Employees and Clerical Force; Municipal Corporations; Private Corporations; Railroads and Internal Improvements. WILLIA LANE (Republican), Representative from Stone County; born June 26, 1903, in Crane, Mo.; educated in the Crane public schools. On May 28, 1938, he married Miss GLADYS OWEN in Crane, and they reside there, where he is in the undertaking business. He is a member of the A. F. & A. M. Lodge No. 519, and a member of the Presbyterian Church at Crane. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Agriculture; Education; Eleemosynary Institutions; Elections; State Library; Consolidations of Counties and Other Subdivisions of the State Government, Boards, Bureaus and Departments.
