McDANIEL (Democrat), Representative from Dunklin County; born July 8, 1890, at Clarkton, Mo.; educated at the Senath, Mo., high school and at the Hall-Moody Institute, Martin, Tenn, where he received a degree in accounting. He married Miss FARRINGTON PRITCHARD of West Port, Tenn., March 3, 1914, and two children were born of this union, DOROTHY JANE and CLEMENT PRICE, the latter deceased. Mrs. McDaniel died in 1920 and on March 7, 1922, he married Miss SUE A. TIPTON at Memphis, Tenn. He is a merchant and resides at Senath, Mo. Active in civic and political affairs for many years, he served eight years as committeeman of Salem Township, Dunklin County; was a member of the Senath Board of Education for a like period, and also was city collector and member of the town board there. He was president of the Senath Lions Club in 1930, and was a member of the Dunklin County C. W. A. and Relief Committee. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1936, he was re-elected in 1938 and served in the 60th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on Purchasing and Supplies, and as a member of the following other committees: Appropriations; Consolidation of Counties and Other Subdivisions of the State Government, Boards, Bureaus and Department; Eleemosynary Institutions; Fish and Game; Township Organization.
