He married Miss LOUISE KIRN of Farmington, Mo., October 8, 1908, and they have four children, ELMER, LORENE, HARRY and LEROY. Resides at Perryville and is an automobile dealer and producer of diaspore clays. Active in Republican politics all of his life, he was chairman for sixteen years of his county committee. Was connected with State Mining Department for fourteen years as deputy state mine inspector for the Eastern District of Missouri. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1934 and re-elected in 1936 and 1938. In the 60th General Assembly he held membership on the following committees: Ways and Means; Private Corporations; Municipal Corporations; Mines and Mining; Constitutional Amendments; Criminal Justice. J. B. HERIFORD (Republican), Representative from Ozark County; born at Princeton, Mo., September 6, 1891; educated at the Thornfield, Mo., public schools and Princeton normal school. He married Miss DORA B. GRUDIER at Thornfield, March 3, 1912, and they have six children, Jr. C., HERBERT L., GARY B., VIRGINIA R., JOHN W., and BETTY LUE. He has been a member of the Republican committee in his township for a number of years; was a member of the social security board in Ozark County in 1937 and 1938 and is active in Red Cross and relief work. Elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, he served as a member of the following committees: Accounts; Agriculture; Education; Probation and Parole; School of Mines; Taxation and Revenue; Roads and Highways.
