IFFRIG (Democrat), Representative from St. Charles County; born on a farm near St. Peters, Mo., June 21, 1876; educated in the parochial and public schools of St. Peters and at Quincy College, Quincy, Ill. He married Miss LENA ALGERMISSEN in St. Peters, November 19, 1901, and they have four children, MILDRED, a graduate of Lindenwood College and now a high school teacher; CYRIL, a graduate of the University of Missouri and now an electrical engineer; MADELINE, a graduate of the University of Missouri and now a registered nurse; and FRANCIS, a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy and now a commissioned officer in the United States Navy. He resides at St. Peters, where he is engaged in the real estate and insurance business and was engaged in the mercantile business for twenty years. He is a pioneer aviation enthusiast and was active as a patriotic speaker during the World War. He served several terms as Mayor of St. Peters, and was Democratic Committeeman of his township for many years. Is a member of the Jefferson Club. Upon his first election to the House of Representatives in 1932, he was the first Democratic Representative of St. Charles County in forty years. Re-elected in 1934, he acted as chairman of the Committee on Public Welfare and Miscellaneous Associations in the 59th General Assembly. Again re-elected in 1936, he acted again as chairman of the Committee on Public Welfare and Miscellaneous Associations in the 59th General Assembly. Elected a fourth time in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly as chairman of the Eleemosynary Institutions Committee and served as a member of the following committees: Appropriations; Education; Purchasing Supplies; Federal Relations; Fish and Game; Commerce and Manufactories; Bills Agreed To and Finally Passed.
