IVANHOE (Democrat), Representative from St. Louis City, First District; born December 12, 1895, at Schenectady, N. Y.; educated in the public schools of Schenectady. He married Miss JESSIE BLANCHARD of Kirksville, Mo., at St. Louis, June 9, 1919. They reside at 4245 Ellenwood Avenue, St. Louis. In the insurance business, he maintains offices at 3820 Washington Boulevard, St. Louis. Enlisting in the United States Army, July 15, 1917, he served overseas with the 49th U. S. Infantry, 89th Division, during the World War, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant, Company F, 49th Infantry, February 22, 1919. Active in Democratic politics since 1919, he is President of the Thirteenth Ward Young Democratic Club, Precinct Captain in the Thirteenth Ward, and a member of the Thirteenth Ward Regular Democratic Club in St. Louis. He is also a member of the Moulders Union Local No. 59, and of the 138th Infantry Memorial Post No. 357, American Legion, at St. Louis. Elected in 1938 to the House of Representatives, he served in the 60th General Assembly on the following committees: Insurance; Municipal Corporations; Constitutional Amendments; Criminal Justice; Roads and Highways; State Teachers Colleges.
