HALE (Democrat), Representative from Schuyler County; born November 27, 1893, in Putnam County, Mo.; educated in the public and high schools of Unionville, Mo., and Kansas City, Mo., and the Bowen Institute of Pharmacy, Brunswick, Mo March 6, 1913, he was married at Kansas City, Mo., to Miss THEO JACKSON of Brunswick, and they have two children, HELEN HALE of Jefferson City, Mo., and JACK, a druggist in Ottumwa, Iowa. He resides at Downing, Mo., where he operates a drug store. Is a member of the Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge at Dowing. Active in Democratic party work for many years, he was a candidate for public office first in 1936, when he was elected without opposition to the House of Representatives in the 59th General Assembly. Re-elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, again without opposition, he served in the 60th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on Criminal Justice; ranking member of the Committee on Public Health; and as a member of the following other committees: Elections; Employees and Clerical Force; Social Security and Old Age Assistance; Roads and Highways.
