WEIGHTMAN (Republican), Representative from Holt County; born September 7, 1871, in Mound City, Mo.; educated in the grade and high schools and County Teachers Institute of Holt County. On December 21, 1892, he married Miss ELIZA ANDES in Mound City, and they have three children, Mrs. LOMA JONES, and ESTHER and RAY WEIGHTMAN. He is a farmer and mutual insurance secretary and resides in Mound City. Always a Republican, he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1938, serving in the 60th General Assembly as a member of the following committees: Agriculture; Criminal Justice; Fish and Game; Mines and Mining; Roads and Highways; University. Page 106-107 A. L. WELBORN (Democrat), Representative from Lincoln County; born June 4, 1977, in Bonne Terre, Mo.; educated in the grade and high schools of Bonne Terre. February 16, 1898, he was married in St. Louis to Miss CHARLOTTE L. TOWNSEND, and they have four children, Mrs. ELLA WALTER of Eola, Mo.; H.A. WELBORN of Jefferson City, Mo.; Mrs. VIRGINIA BARNES of Silex, Mo., and ROBERT F. WELBORN of Whiteside, Mo. A contractor and farmer, he resides at Whiteside. He moved to St. Louis in 1896, and became a member of the St. Louis Police Department, retiring in 1917 as a sergeant, after eighteen years of service. He moved to Whiteside in 1917 and became a member of the Lincoln County Democratic Central Committee. He was elected a director of his school district and served eight years. First elected to the House of Representatives in 1932 and re-elected in 1934, he served in the 57th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on Pensions, and in the 58th General Assembly as chairman of the Committee on Insurance. Although not a candidate in 1938, he again was elected to the House of Representatives when his name was written in on the ballot at the general election. In the 60th General Assembly he served as a member of the following committees: Private Corporations; Criminal Jurisprudence; Banks and Banking; Printing; Labor; State Library. Norma
