Was born in Deer Ridge, Lewis County, Missouri, May 17, 1876; educated in the public schools of Lewis County and Western College at LaBelle, Mo. Was admitted to the bar in 1901. On April 16, 1902, at Trenton, Mo., he married Miss ALEINDA L. BARNETT of Monticello, Mo. Was elected Prosecuting Attorney of Lewis County for two terms, 1911-1912, and 1913-1914, never having sought public office prior to that time. He was elected Judge of the First Judicial Circuit in November, 1934, for a term expiring December 31, 1940. Resides at Canton. HARRY J. LIBBY (Democrat), Second Circuit. Was born in Missouri, July 31, 1885; educated in the public schools of Laclede and Brookfield, Mo., and later studied law in the office of his father, Judge Oscar R. Libby, at LaClede, Mo. On October 18, 1909, he married CARRIE BELL YOUNG at Brookfield, Mo., and they have four children; HARRY J., Jr., PAUL W., JOHN P., and CAROLYN LIBBY. Was admitted to the bar May 15, 1905. Served as Prosecuting Attorney of Shelby County, Missouri, two terms, from 1912 to 1916. Also served as secretary of the Democratic County Committee of Linn County, Missouri. Has been continuously engaged in the practice of law thirty years, two of which were spent at Laclede, Linn County, Missouri, and twenty-eight in Shelby County, Missouri. Always active in Democratic politics, he was elected Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit in November 1934, for a six-year term. Judge Libby resides at Shelbina. VIRGIL CASEY ROSE (Republican, Third Circuit. Born July 6, 1902, on a farm near Glenwood, Schuyler County, Missouri; educated in the public schools of Schuyler and Putnam Counties, Missouri, and the Kansas City School of Law, from which he graduated June 3, 1924, with an LL.B. degree. Was married August 23, 1930, to Miss DOROTHY FRIEDRICH, and they reside at Unionville, Mo. Served as Prosecuting Attorney of Putnam County in 1927 and 1928, 1935 and 1936, and 1937 and 1938. Was elected Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit, November 8, 1938. His term expires December 31, 1944. Norma
