Born in St. Louis, Mo., March 3, 1883; educated in the public and parochial schools of St. Louis, the Jones Commercial College and the Benton College of Law, also of St. Louis. Married Miss ELIZABETH HELEN HUMM in St. Louis, May 20, 1907, and they reside at 4349 Gibson Avenue in that city. Served as a member of the Democratic Central Committee of St. Louis from 1910 to 1929. Was Inspector of Weights and Measures in St. Louis from 1913 to 1917. Was admitted to the bar in 1917 and served as Assistant Cicuit Attorney of St. Louis from 1918 to 1921 and from 1929 to 1934. Elected Judge of the St. Louis Court of Criminal Correction in 1934, he was elected in 1938 for a term expiring December 31, 1942. Page 149 JOSEPH L. SIMPSON (Democrat), Judge of St. Louis Court of Criminal Correction, Division No. 2. Was born in St. Louis, Mo., and graduated from the St. Louis University Law School. Admitted to the bar in 1923, he was appaointed Judge of the St. Louis Police Court by Mayor Bernard F. Dickmann, January 1, 1935. Was elected Judge of the St. Louis Court of Criminal Correction, November 3, 1936, for a term ending December 31, 1940. Resides at 3736 Maffitt. L. L. BOWMAN (Democrat), Judge of Cape Girardeau Court of Common Pleas. Born April 3, 1878, in Glenallen, Bollinger County, Missouri; educated in the public schools of Glenallen, the Southeast Missouri State Teachers College, Cape Girardeau, and the University of Missouri. He was married June 27, 1908, in Manchester, Mo., to Miss ELEANOR STOECKER, and they reside in Cape Girardeau, which has been his home since 1894. Has been a member of the Missouri National Guard and served in the Cape Girardeau Home Guard during the Worl War. Admitted to the bar, March 12, 1906, he practiced law at Cape Girardeau. Long an active Democratic party member, he was nominee for Prosecuting Attorney of Cape Girardeau County in 1914 and again in 1916. Elected Judge of the Cape Girardeau Court of Common Pleas in 1932, he was re-elected in 1936 for a term ending December 31, 1940. Norma
